Elisabeth composes her paintings from textile, mostly silk without any further additions. This allows for evoking powerful color and form effects.

Creating textile paintings is a complex, rarely applied technique in the visual arts.

Transparant, Elisabeth Fecit The technique invites both figurative and
non-figurative applications.
The transparency of silk allows for infinite
variation in shades of color, even over quite
small surfaces.

In addition, the artist can use the
changeant character of silk
(due to differently tinged warp and weft)
to evoke dynamic color changes,
dependent on the observer's viewpoint.
However, Elisabeth exploits these and
other material affordances exclusively
in the service of the artistic purpose,
the expressive force of the image.
